The Navajo Homeowner Assistance Fund (NHAF) program has officially concluded following three years of providing financial assistance to eligible Navajo homeowners experiencing COVID-19-related financial hardship. All funds managed by NCC available to issue as grant funds have been disbursed.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who worked with us throughout the program, as well as everyone who was involved in making NHAF a success.

The NHAF program required time, collaboration, and patience — all of which resulted in our ability to serve over 500+ clients with their homeownership needs.

Before we conclude the Navajo Homeowner Assistance Fund (NHAF) program, we’d like to extend our deepest heartfelt gratitude to our team, without which the program would not be possible.

Over the three years of the NHAF program, we had 30+ staff working on NHAF, most of which were either enrolled members of the Navajo Nation or other tribal nations. All staff were uniquely qualified to address the technical details of the NHAF program and the lived reality of homeowners in need of financial support..

As a first-ever federal grant program for homeowners affected by COVID, implementation was a challenge that we overcame together…applicants, Navajo leadership, US Treasury officials and NCC staff. The attention to detail was sometimes overwhelming. Together, we worked as a team to find solutions and to adjust as needed. The NCC team in particular handled every challenge with grace and humility, and we are forever grateful for their will and determination to serve the best interests of Navajo homeowners in need.

Our team has been working diligently to support applicants through every step of the Navajo Homeowner Assistance Fund (NHAF), especially in our requests for additional documentation.

We understand that gathering and providing documents to ensure program eligibility is not always an easy task. We are grateful for the applicants who worked closely with our team to fulfill additional document requests in a timely manner.

Ahéhee Linda for the kind words. We are glad that we were able to support you through the NHAF program.
